Preparation steps

1.

For the dough: Sift flour into bowl and make a well in middle. Crumble yeast and mix into flour along with some lukewarm milk, sugar and flour from bowl's edge. Cover batter and leave in warm place for about 15 minutes.

2.

Heat butter with remaining milk, remaining sugar, flour and eggs and mix with batter to form dough. Beat vigorously until dough is smooth and doesn't stick to bowl. Cover and let rise in warm place for about 45 minutes until volume doubles.

Roll dough into 3 equal pieces on floured surface, shape pieces into long strands and braid strands together. Shape dough braid into wreath and firmly press ends together. Place dough wreath on baking sheet lined with baking paper and let rest about 15 minutes.

3.

Preheat oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F.)

4.

Mix egg yolk and milk and use to brush dough braid. Bake dough wreath in oven for 40-45 minutes until golden brown, remove and let cool.

Mix powdered sugar with 3-4 tablespoons water. Brush bread wreath with powdered sugar glaze, sprinkle with colorful sugar pearls and let cool.

5.

Serve bread wreath with festive dyed eggs on top.
