200 milliliters vegetable oil
200 milliliters Orange juice
300 grams Pastry flour
4 tablespoons Cocoa
1 teaspoon Baking powder
4 centiliters Rum (for drizzling)
250 milliliters Whipped cream
500 grams Dark chocolate (70%)
Chocolate curl (70%, for garnish)

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F) convection. Grease the springform pan and sprinkle with flour.

For the cake: Whip the eggs and sugar until creamy, slowly drizzle in the oil and orange juice then stir in the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder. Transfer to the prepared springform pan, smooth the surface and bake for 40-45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the springform pan and let cool on a wire rack. Cut into 3 horizontal layers and drizzle the cut-sides with rum.

For the frosting: Bring the cream to a boil and pour over the chopped chocolate. Whisk until smooth then let cool to room temperature. Spread around 1/3 of the frosting over the cake layers, stack together then spread the remaining frosting over the cake. Garnish with chocolate curls.
