For the cupcakes
cup butter (softened)
¾ cup caster sugar
1 ½ cups self-rising flour
1 tsp Baking powder
3 eggs (beaten)
2 Tbsps cocoa powder
For the chocolate buttercream
½ cup unsalted butter
2 cups powdered sugar
½ cup cocoa powder
1 Tbsp cream (35% fat)
To decorate
1 tube black Fondant
jelly bean
colored sugar sprinkles

1 Cutting board, 1 Small knife, 1 Large knife, 1 Pot, 1 Slotted spoon, 1 große Bowl, 1 Paper towel, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Bowl, 1 Whisk, 1 Citrus juicer, 3 tiefe Plates, 1 Fork, 1 Non-stick pan, 1 Slotted spatula

Preparation steps

For the cupcakes: heat the oven to 190°C (170° fan) 375°F gas 5. Place paper cases in a 12 hole bun tin.

Place all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk with an electric whisk until blended. Alternatively beat well with a wooden spoon.

Spoon the mixture into the paper cases and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and springy to the touch. Remove from the tin and place on a wire rack to cool completely.

For the chocolate buttercream: beat the butter until soft. Sift in the icing sugar and beat until smooth.
5.
Sift in the cocoa and beat well. Stir in enough cream until creamy and spreadable. Add more cream if necessary to loosen the mixture.
6.
Spread thickly on top of the cakes.
7.
To decorate: pipe the eye outlines, nose and whiskers on the cakes with black icing. Add jelly beans for the eyes and scatter sugar sprinkles on top of the cakes.
