200 grams Pastry flour
2 Tbsps sugar
1 pinch salt
3 grams Dry yeast
350 milliliters lukewarm milk

Preparation steps

Mix the flour, sugar, salt, yeast and milk until smooth. Cover and let rise for about 2 hours in a warm place.

Melt some butter in a frying pan and arrange some buttered crumpet rings (about 8 cm diameter) (approximately 3 inches) in the pan. Fill the rings about 1 cm (approximately 1/3 inch) high with the batter and cook for about 2 minutes, until bubbles form on the surface. Remove the rings and flip the crumpets over. Cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes and then remove from the pan. Repeat with the remaining batter to make around 8 crumpets total.
