Coral Cookies (Butter Cookies)
Preheat the oven to 175°C (approximately 350°F).
Stir the butter until creamy, add sugar and egg and stir until the mixture is frothy. Stir in the milk. Mix flour with baking powder and spices and fold into the egg mixture. The dough should be a bit sticky. If needed add a little more milk.
Spread batter on a lined baking tray and bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes on the middle rack. Remove and allow to cool, then cut into rectangles.
Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice and food coloring. The mixture should be syrupy. If needed add a little water. Using parchment paper, make a cone using tape to secure. Fill with icing. Decorate the cookies, adding small silver pearls. Allow icing to dry before serving.
