200 grams sugar
400 milliliters strong Coffee
60 milliliters Rum

Preparation steps

Dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Mix in a bowl with flour and salt. Let sit for 15 minutes. Add butter, sugar, and eggs. Knead into a smooth dough and let rise for 15 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Butter the ramekins and fill halfway with the dough. Depending on the size of the ramekins, bake for 12-18 minutes.

For the coffee syrup: Bring the sugar and coffee to a boil. Add the rum and leave to cool. Loosen the crumpets from the ramekins and while they are still warm, soak with the syrup. Serve garnished with fresh fruit and whipped cream.
