Preparation steps

1.

Preheat the oven to 190°C (approximately 375°F).

Mix the raisins with orange peel, lemon peel and rum.

Mix the flour with the baking powder, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, and spices. Mound on the table and make a well in the middle. Beat the eggs. Cube the cold butter and mix into the flour. Place the eggs and quark into the middle of the flour. Knead by hand until smooth. Knead in the almonds and fruit. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Shape into balls and place in a well-buttered, ovenproof glass pan. Bake in a preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Remove and let cool. 

To serve: Garnish with candied fruit or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
