75 grams butter
75 grams sugar beet syrup
350 milliliters Malt beer
1 cube fresh Yeast
600 grams Rye flour
¼ teaspoon Ground clove
¼ teaspoon Ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
200 grams raisins

Preparation steps

Melt butter and syrup in a saucepan and let cool until lukewarm. Add beer and stir in yeast. Let dissolve while stirring. Mix flour with the spices, salt and raisins in a bowl and make a well in the center.

Slowly incorporate the yeast beer and process with the dough hook of an electric hand mixer until smooth. Cover and let rest 45 minutes in a warm place. Preheat oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F) heat and grease a loaf pan with butter and sprinkle with flour.

Shape dough into a loaf and place into loaf pan. Score top with a knife into a checkerboard pattern and brush with cold water. Bake in preheated oven for 30-40 minutes. Remove, slice and serve.
