The main ingredients of the dark chocolate coating are cocoa butter and cocoa. The cocoa contains so-called catechins, which can strengthen our immune system and prevent inflammation.

Couverture contains more cocoa butter than chocolate - this makes it nice and liquid when melted in a water bath, and because it has such a nice shine, it also makes a wonderful glaze, so it's perfect for confectionary with nuts!

Ingredients
100 grams Shelled peanut (skins removed)
100 grams Corn flakes
20 Mikado chocolate sticks (substitute Pocky or other chocolate covered biscuit sticks)
400 grams Dark couverture chocolate

Preparation steps

1.

Coarsely chop the peanuts. Crumble the cornflakes and break the biscuit sticks into 2 cm (approximately 3/4 inch) pieces. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water.

2.

Remove the chocolate from heat and allow to cool slightly. Stir in the peanuts, cornflakes and biscuit pieces. Scoop the mixture by the tablespoon onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow the chocolate to solidify and store the cookies in an airtight container.
