Chocolate Pancakes with Peanut Butter
Peanut butter contains many healthy fats that are positive for our brain and heart. It also contains a lot of protein, because peanuts are not nuts but pulses, which are known to be a good source of vegetable protein. The cocoa in the pancakes contains flavonoids that are important for our heart health.
Peanut butter is usually already sweetened and often contains palm oil. Here you will find everything you need to know about oil from the jungle. For the chocolate pancakes you can replace the peanut butter with peanut butter. These are nuts processed into puree without any other additives. Since the peanut butter is a little more liquid, you can reduce the amount of milk.
Mix the flour, salt, baking powder, cocoa, and powdered sugar in a bowl. Form a well in the middle. Add the eggs and milk, and whisk until the mixture is smooth. Rest for about 15 minutes. Melt the butter, add into the batter, and whisk until everything is thoroughly combined.
Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a pan. Pour 1 small spoonfull of batter into the pan, and cook 1-2 minutes on each side. Repeat until all the batter is used.
Melt the peanut butter with the milk and sugar in a saucepan, stirring constantly.
Stack the pancakes, and drizzle with the peanut sauce. Garnish with pretzels.
