Chocolate Nut Cut-out Cookies
Mix flour, baking powder and cocoa. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour mixture, ground hazelnuts, espresso powder, eggs and cinnamon to butter mixture and knead to a smooth dough. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate about 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). On a floured surface, thinly roll out dough to about 3 mm thick (approximately 1/8 inch thick). Using cookie cutters, cut wreath, tree, Santa or other desired shapes from dough. Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake 8-10 minutes. Let cookies cool, then decorate with sugar pearls and powdered sugar to serve.
