120 grams Dark couverture chocolate
150 grams butter
100 grams sugar
4 eggs
200 grams Pastry flour
50 grams cornstarch
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon Baking powder
60 milliliters milk
60 grams ground slivered almonds
powdered sugar (for dusting)

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).

For the batter, coarsely chop chocolate and melt over a hot water bath. Allow chocolate to cool. Mix butter with sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually stir in eggs and melted chocolate. Mix flour with the starch, cocoa and baking powder, add to butter mixture and add milk. Finally, fold in almonds. Pour batter into a springform pan lined with parchment paper. Bake cake in oven for about 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool slightly in the springform pan. Then loosen cake from pan and leave to cool on a wire rack.
