- 16 ozs plain Dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids, chopped)
- 20 Medjool Date
- 2 ozs Marzipan
- 1 Tbsp finely chopped, fresh ginger
- To decorate
- 1 sheet gold edible leaf
Preparation steps
1.
Line a tray with non-stick baking paper.
2.
Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering (not boiling) water.
3.
Split the dates along the top and remove the stones.
4.
Divide the marzipan into 20-25 pieces and knead in the ginger.
5.
Press a piece into each date in the hollow left by the stone.
6.
Using a skewer, dip each date in the chocolate. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off and place on the tray.
7.
Carefully tear the gold leaf into small pieces with gloved hands. Using tweezers, place a piece on each chocolate. Leave to set.
