Preparation steps

For the base: butter cake pan and sprinkle with flour. Separate eggs. Beat egg whites until stiff, gradually add sugar, beating constantly. Whisk remaining sugar with butter until creamy. Whisk egg yolks and add to butter mixture. Add quark, cinnamon and rum. Combine nuts with cocoa and add as well, stirring constantly. Fold in egg whites. Pour batter into a pan and bake in preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for about 40 minutes. At the end of baking, cover cake with aluminum foil to prevent cake from browning too much. Remove from oven and let cool.

For the topping: combine cream cheese with lime juice, powdered sugar and vanilla sugar. Beat cream until stiff and fold into cream cheese mixture. Loosen cake from the mold and place on a serving plate, spread with cream.

Rinse and pat dry berries. Arrange berries on top of cake and serve.
