Preparation steps

1.

Melt the crushed chocolate in a bowl over a pot simmering water. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Beat the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt until creamy. Gradually add in the eggs.  Mix the flour with the baking powder and hazelnuts. Fold into the batter. If necessary, add some water so that the dough is fluid.

Transfer the batter into a greased baking pan shaped like a bear. Smooth and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for 15 minutes. Remove from the pan and let cool on a wire rack.

3.

Heat the jam, press through a sieve and brush over the cake.

4.

Melt the chocolate coating in a bowl over a pot of water and pour over the cake. Decorate as desired with chocolate beans for eyes and buttons and with sprinkles as desired.
