50 grams Milk chocolate
2 Tbsps chopped almonds
125 grams butter
butter (for greasing the jars)

125 grams Pastry flour
½ tsp Baking powder
½ tsp cinnamon
2 eggs
30 grams sugar
1 Tbsp Vanilla sugar
80 grams brown sugar
60 milliliters Apple juice

Preparation steps

Chop the milk chocolate and combine it with the chopped almonds. Melt the butter in a small saucepan.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Grease the inside of the mason jars with butter and dust with breadcrumbs.

Sift together the flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites with the sugar and vanilla sugar until stiff and glossy. Beat the yolks with the brown sugar until creamy. Add the apple juice and melted butter to the yolk mixture and mix well. Stir the flour mixture, chopped chocolate and almonds into the yolk mixture then gently fold in the egg whites and mix until just combined. Spoon the batter into the prepared jars, about 2/3 of the full. Place the jars on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from the oven and seal with lids immediately. Cool completely and serve or give as gifts.
