Cherry Cake with Cheese Topping
- For the cheese topping
- 500 grams Quark
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 500 milliliters Whipped cream (at least 30% fat content)
- 1 packet red Pie glaze
- 250 milliliters Cabbage
Preheat the oven to 160 ° C (approximately 320 ° F). Rinse cherries and cut in half. Remove pits. Mix butter with sugar and vanilla sugar until white and creamy. Gradually add the eggs and stir. Pour in milk and mix. Mix flour baking powder together. Add dry ingredients to wet and whisk until fully incorporated.
Divide batter in half and stir in nut nougat cream to one half. Reserve some of the cherries for garnish and add the rest in equal proportions to both batters. Grease a springform pan and dust with flour. Pour in dark batter and top with light batter. Swirl batters slightly with a fork.
Bake for 45 minutes. Loosen edge of springform pan and allow to cool. Mix quark with sugar and vanilla sugar until smooth. Beat heavy cream until stiff and carefully fold into quark mixture. Spread on top of cake. Mix glaze with cherry juice according to package instructions. Mix in remaining cherries and pour over top of cake. Serve chilled and cut into pieces.
