100 milliliters lukewarm milk
250 grams Pastry flour
40 grams sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 pinch salt
2 centiliters Rum
40 grams soft butter

60 grams softened butter
60 grams Pastry flour
40 grams ground almonds
50 grams sugar
1 pinch salt

Preparation steps

Rinse and pit cherries.

For the dough: Dissolve yeast in milk. Sift flour over yeast mixture and add sugar, egg, egg yolk, salt, rum and softened butter. Knead dough until it leaves side of a bowl. Shape into a ball and cover. Let rise in a warm place until it doubles in volume (for about 45 minutes).

For the Streusel: combine softened butter, flour, almonds, sugar and salt in a bowl. Crumble mixture with 2 forks or a hand mixer. Cover and refrigerate.

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C upper and lower heat.

Knead dough again and let rise for another 15 minutes. Roll out and line buttered springform pan with it, making an edge all around. Prick several times with a fork and sprinkle with biscuit crumbs. Combine cherries with vanilla sugar and cornstarch, place on a dough. Top cherries with streusel and bake in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 50 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool. Remove from pan and place on a cake plate. Serve.
