Rub the donue pot with the garlic clove. Add the kirsch and white wine, and bring to a simmer. Add the cheese and melt gradually, stirring constantly.
Remove the seeds from the peppers, finely dice, then mix into the fondue.
Rinse the lettuce, tomatoes, and the cucumber. Slice the tomatoes and the cucumber and mix with the lettuce to make a salad. Mix the vinegar with the oil, and season to taste with salt and sugar. Drizzle the dressing over the salad.
Cut the baguette into cubes to dip into the fondue. Serve the salad with the cheese fondue.
