Cut garlic clove in half and rub the inside of the fondue pot. Heat the wine in the fondue pot, then add grated cheese and stir over medium heat until smooth.
Stir the cornstarch with a little kirsch until smooth, stir in the cheese and let come to a boil. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Place the pot on a burner over low heat. Serve hot with cubed bread.
