80 grams
Cocoa (or more if needed)
225 milliliters
75 grams
Butter (softened)
vanilla extract (to taste)
200 grams
mixed, coarsely chopped Nuts (such as Brazil nuts, walnuts and hazelnuts)

Preparation steps

1.

Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper. Mix the sugar, cocoa and the milk in a saucepan, stir well and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat, and continue cooking the mixture, without stirring, until mixture registers 114°C (approximately 237°F (soft-ball stage) on a candy thermometer. (To test, drop a small amount of the mixture in a cup of cold water and if it forms a soft ball it is ready. )

2.

Then remove the pan from the heat and add the butter, vanilla and nuts. If necessary, stir in cocoa powder until the desired color is achieved. Beat with a wooden spoon until the mixture is no longer shiny.

3.

Place on the baking sheet, flatten and allow to cool. To serve, cut into pieces.
