250 Pastry flour
75 grams sugar
1 pinch salt
2 teaspoons Bourbon vanilla powder
1 egg
125 grams butter
For decorating
large and small Cookie cutter (in ornament shapes)
Decorating icing
Sugar pearls
For the icing
150 grams powdered sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Preparation steps

For the cookies, knead all ingredients together into a crumbly dough. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Divide the dough into portions. Roll out each portion on a lightly floured surface about 1 cm (approximately 1/8 inch) thick and cut out various ornaments. Pierce some with a wooden skewer at the top so you can hang the cookies later. Bake for about 10 minutes. Let cool.

For the icing, stir together the powdered sugar and lemon juice. Decorate the cooled cookies with frosting using a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Decorate with the sugar pearls and allow to dry before hanging.
