- 3 slices Bacon (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 small yellow onion (sliced thin)
- 24 ounces Brussels sprouts (trimmed and halved )
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon cracked Black pepper
- 1 cup Chicken broth
Preparation steps

Brown bacon in a medium skillet over medium high heat. Remove bacon to a paper towel lined plate.

Add extra-virgin olive oil to the same skillet. When the oil is warmed, add the sliced onions and sauté 5 to 7 minutes.

Next add Brussels spouts to the pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook Brussels sprouts for 5 minutes to begin to soften, then add broth. Bring broth to a low boil, cover and reduce heat to medium low. Cook for 10 minutes, or until tender.

Transfer sprouts to a serving dish and top with cooked bacon bits.
