Brownies with Walnuts
- For Brownies
- 150 grams Milk chocolate
- 125 grams softened butter
- 150 grams cane sugar
- 2 eggs
- 100 grams Pastry flour
- ½ teaspoon Baking powder
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla sugar
- 200 grams Walnut (coarsely chopped)
- softened butter (for the pan)
For the brownies: chop chocolate coarsely and melt, stirring, over hot water bath.
Whisk butter and sugar until creamy, add melted chocolate.
Combine flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar. Add to chocolate mixture. Add walnuts.
Butter baking dish and spread batter into it. Bake in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 30 minutes (inserted toothpick should come out clean). Cool slightly and invert onto a wire rack. Cool completely.
For the cream: whisk butter until foamy, gradually add cocoa powder, salt, powdered sugar and vanilla sugar. Beat heavy cream until stiff and fold.
Spread cake with cream and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Melt chocolate over hot water bath, dip fork into it and make chocolate stripes on the cream. Dry cake and cut into pieces. Serve.
