500 grams crushed tomatoes (canned)
200 milliliters Beef broth
1 bay leaf
½ teaspoon dried oregano

Preparation steps

Rinse the carrot onion, garlic and celery. Peel the vegetables, where necessary, then finely dice. Heat the oil in a pan, and sweat the onions. Add the remaining vegetables, sauté briefly, then add the mixed meat. Sauté until the meat is cooked through and crumbles apart. Add the tomato paste, sauté briefly, then add the red wine. Mix in the tomatoes, broth, and the bay leaf. Simmer gently for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. If necessary, add a little broth if the sauce thickens too much. Likewise, simmer for longer if the sauce remains too thin.

Mix in the oregano, and season to taste with salt, pepper, sugar, and cayenne pepper.
