150 grams Pastry flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vegetable oil
200 milliliters beer
600 grams Sliced cheese

Preparation steps

Separate the eggs. Chill the egg whites. Combine flour, salt, oil, egg yolks and beer and mix well. Cover and let rest for 1 hour.

Cut cheese into 0.5 cm (approximately 1/4 inch) thick slices and then into large 5 cm (approximately 2 inches) squares.

Heat oil in a fryer (180°C) (approximately 350°F) until beads of oil adhere to an inserted wooden spoon.

Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into the batter. With a fork, dip pieces of cheese in the batter, drain excess batter and fry until golden brown in hot oil. Drain on paper towels. Keep finished pieces warm in the oven (80°C) (approximately 175°F). Serve garnished with lemon peel.
