2 tablespoons
melted Butter
1 generous pinch
1 tablespoon
Fat (for frying)
3
sour Apples (such as Granny Smith)

Preparation steps

1.

Separate eggs. In a bowl, whisk flour with white wine until smooth. Stir in yolks, melted butter and vanilla.

2.

Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt. Gradually sprinkle in sugar and continue beating until stiff.  Fold egg whites into batter.

3.

Meanwhile, heat oil in a deep fryer (or a large pot) until temperature reaches 170°C (approximately 340°F).

4.

Peel, core and cut apples into wedges or rings. In batches, dip apples in batter and fry in hot oil until golden-brown. Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels and serve dusted with powdered sugar.
