Baked Ice Cream Filled Croissants
The crispy, airy puff pastry is transformed into an ice cream treat in no time at all. But you probably already guessed it: the puff pastry cannot really be described as extremely healthy. The abundant butter provides a lot of fat, and the vitamins and minerals from the flour are rather negligible. So it's better to enjoy in moderation.
Vanilla is one of the most popular types of ice cream, but ingredients determine the enjoyment: many manufacturers are increasingly replacing milk fat in ice cream with cheaper vegetable fats. Real vanilla is also often replaced by cheap, synthetic flavours. It is therefore worth reading the list of ingredients if you want to enjoy a high-quality ice cream.
Divide the ice cream into 6-8 servings and freeze.
Preheat a convection oven to 250°C (approximately 480°F).
Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 6-8 triangles. Place a portion of ice cream at the base of each triangle and roll into croissants. Sprinkle with the almonds and press to adhere. Lay the croissants side-by-side on a baking sheet and freeze for 5-10 minutes. Put in the oven and bake until golden, about 5 minutes. Serve immediately.
