Baked Figs in Spiced Wine Sauce
In a saucepan, bring wine, sugar, ginger, star anise, lemon zest and cloves to a boil. Simmer over medium heat until syrupy. Pour sauce into a large baking dish (or 4 small baking dishes).
Rinse and quarter figs, place in baking dish (or dishes) and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F), about 10 minutes.
