Baked Apples Stuffed with Nuts
Rinse apples and cut in half horizontally. Core apples and remove part of apple pulp (preserve apple stems).
Chop walnuts and combine with hazelnuts in a bowl. Combine marzipan with liqueur in a small bowl and crush with a fork. Add to nuts.
Beat egg white with vanilla sugar until stiff and fold into nut mixture. Pour mixture into bottom apple halves and top with apple tops. Place apples into a buttered baking dish and bake in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 25 minutes or until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
