Peel the apples, remove the seeds and finely chop. Sprinkle the apples with 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Toast the almonds in a dry frying pan until golden, remove and set aside. Melt 1 teaspoon of butter over low heat, add the apples and saute briefly.
Mix the marzipan, raisins, almonds and spices into the apple mixture. Let cool. Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F). Mix the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix the sugar and remaining butter with the eggs until frothy.
Quickly stir the flour mixture and milk into the butter mixture. Fold in the apple mixture. Pour the batter into a greased muffin tin and bake for about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool. Mix the powdered sugar and the remaining lemon juice into a thick icing. Spread the icing on the muffins, let dry and serve.
