The apple pies score points with a good portion of the immune booster vitamin C as well as with the soluble fibre pectin from the apples. The dietary fibre ensures a long-lasting satiation and helps with digestive problems.

The apple cakes from the pan not only taste great with cinnamon sugar - they can also be served with fresh fruit or vanilla sauce, for example.

Preparation steps

1.

For the batter: separate eggs. Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff. Whisk flour with sugar, egg yolks and wine and fold egg whites in. Peel apples, core and cut into about 0.7 cm (approximately 1/3 inch) thick slices, sprinkle with lemon juice and dip, one by one, into the batter.

2.

Heat oil in a pan and cook apple slices, few at a time, until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels. Mix powdered sugar with cinnamon and dust apple fritters with the mixture. Serve.
