Preparation steps

For the batter, mix the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt until fluffy. Gradually stir in the eggs, flour, cornstarch, cinnamon and baking powder. Peel the apples, quarter, remove the cores and cut into large cubes. Immediately fold the apple cubes into the batter.

Grease the ramekins and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour the batter into the ramekins. Bake for about 10 minutes at 180°C (approximately 350°F).

For the topping, bring the cream and sugar to a boil, stirring constantly. Add the butter and stir until melted. Add the almonds. Bring up to a boil. Spread the almond paste on the cakes and bake for another 15-20 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool. Serve dusted with powdered sugar.
