Apple and Pear Tarts
Mix the flour with the sugar and the salt. Divide the butter into small pieces and mix into the flour mixture. Add the egg and quickly knead to a smooth dough. Form the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
Butter 4 small tart tins and preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F). Wash the apples and pears, cut in half, remove seeds and cut into small pieces. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and line the pans with it. Cut lines into the dough several times with a fork and place the pieces of fruit on top.
Brush the fruit with the butter, sprinkle with cardamom and bake for 30-35 minutes. Remove and serve.
